Have you ever thought about making friends all around the world and learning about their cultures? Then I have something for you -a special organization called CISV.
As you perhaps know CISV is the international organization dedicated to educate and inspire young people by building friendships in a peaceful way. It also deals with some important themes on the world like diversity, human rights, sustainable development and conflicts all around the world. It was founded in 1950 by Doris Allen- an American psychologist. Since then the world has changed and CISV has evolved along with it.
Today kids starting from the age of eleven , can already go on some camps. In summer there are some suggestions to each country for where around the world kids can go. Basically if you are old enough you can go to another country with kids from other countries and make some friends or learn about their culture. Till now CISV cooperates with 66 countries.
Before covid I had an opportunity to participate in one of those camps. I must say it was amazing!. I made a lot of friends and that camp actually made me looking at the world differently. I think it’s a great way to learn about some other cultures and to get to know how people in different places actually live like.
