Today, today I’d like to write about different days that you can hear about on the radio, TV or maybe read in your phone. I heard about some of them, so I thought that I would tell you some things about them, because it’s interesting and why aren’t those days more popular?
One of them is World Smile Day, which is celebrated on first Friday of October every year around the world, but it’s not as much known as for example Mother’s Day in Poland. Harvey Ball created this day in 1999. He wanted to devote one day each year to smile and do kind acts. To diffuse that day we can do a random act of kindness for someone or give a smile to everyone you come across.
Another day is international Hug Day. Free Hug Day was celebrated every year on the first Saturday of July. Free Hug Day used to be a day when people offered hugs to strangers in public places, and people hugged one another as a random act of kindness to make other feel better. It’s nice act to make smile on people’s faces, but I don’t think that it would be well received by other people nowadays.
Those two days are awesome in their own way. I’d like to celebrate them in the current years and make them more popular. Nice acts can brighten up someone’s day, so why don’t we try make someone’s day better. I hope they’ll get more famous in the future.
